Since the last report, not that much has happened. But there was at least one accomplishment.
Accomplishments
Abendsonne was shifted, ending up for a recording session 7-23 (i.e. earlier this week).
I’m nothing but blown away by the results. Great job, Neil and X Ensemble!
Sidenote: I had at one point decided not to share any recordings or recorded music before the release, and I’m going to stick with that approach – as tempting as it is right now to just give you something to listen to.
Instead, here’s a photo of the ensemble

That makes it four down, one to go.
No further progress, except for some administrative stuff.
Going Forward
There’s still the unsolved riddle of Sapientia Salomonis. It seems the entire project has been under some sort of bad spell, with people literally dying during the progress – and the Abendstern part, although not suffering from that, is still nowhere near confirmed. I might play this on the old August Förster I inherited from my grandpa (who was a much better pianist than I will ever be…).

There will be a design sketch early in September – and based on that a decision on the physical format (first half of September).
Depending on how the Abendstern progresses (and vacation plans), mixing will happen between mid-September and mid-October, with mastering happening afterwards. Which means that even in a worst case scenario, we’ll have time to spare, unless there’s hiccups in the visual arts department.
Open Questions
Same as before (physical release type) – but we know when it will be answered.
And the big Sapientia Salomonis question: will it be the Queen or the King of Instruments?
