That was 2025

This last year was less of a challenge than 2024 – at least for me. A lot of ugly things happened on the federal level, but that’s not what I want to talk about. At all. Rather…

The Big One – MAX

This album was a big one in many respects. Musically, organizationally, and emotionally. And on December 24th (Christmas Eve, and my father’s 90th birthday) it was released.

However the journey isn’t over yet. Following the order of the vinyl release (which happened earlier today), we’ll have the phyiscal release on April 15th. The beautiful kind. Double Vinyl. Gatefold. Printed Innersleeves. I’m so happy!

Vacation (Portugal)

We flew to Libsoa, and then did a roundtrip to Albufeira, Figueira da Foz and back to Lisboa, with lots of stops in many places. Such a nice country! And the Japanese influence (also in food) is the icing on the cake.

Music

I have started collaborating with a software engineer/moto esports athlete/hobby EDM musician – which is a lot of fun! Something will happen in 2026, if only continued work together.

On the side, I was considered for a job as a music teacher and big band lead at a local grammar school. Which unfortunately didn’t manifest. A pity – I led a performance in July, and what a blast it was!

I went back into doing Music Weeklies. Will this be a one-shot deal? Maybe not. Here’s the latest track.

Other Things

Mostly cats. And good food. I’ll leave you with another snapshot of Dr. Emmy Noether.

Plans for 2026?

Release the vinyl version of MAX, of course! Which isn’t a real release (because the album was already released in 2025).

So I want a proper 2026 release as well. What will it be? No idea – although that’s not really true, rather not decided on or haven’t fleshed out one.

Maybe I will land a gig leading a big band or something. Or another day job – let’s see.
