At least up to this point in time, today qualifies for the „best days of my life“ subset of the set of days in my life.
I don’t even know why.
Sure, Yoru No Kuro Neko turned out to be a stellar piece of music, but the heavy intellectual lifting was already done yesterday; what I did today was essentially integration testing.
Lunch at Kanna. Arroz Negro, which is pretty much Kanna’s signature dish, and the tuna and tomato salad as a first course again. Great staff. My waiter switched between Spanish and English, and I believe thought that the literal translation of muchas gracias was very thank you. Did that diminish the experience? Quite the opposite.

Before that, I asked for a cappuccino at Reserve Pool, the lady told me that the coffee machine was broken, and I said „well, ok, no coffee, then“ but potentially looked like a toddler whose fave toy was taken from them, so she went „give me five minutes“, called a colleague and they brought over the cappuccino. „Going the extra mile“ is what I believe hipsters call that.
I also saw how the sunscreens of the Bali Beds at the Reserve Pool are set up properly. Let’s do tomorrow’s Frühstücksrunde from a Bali Bed at the pool, then ;).
When I went swimming, a guy (maybe late 30s/early 40s, athletic-looking) suddenly picked up the pace. I remembered that I did actually start swimming after him, so I kinda caught up and overtook him before that.
Once I was done with my 150m, he ostentatiously continued. I thought „maybe he’s doing 400m“, but he wasn’t. Slowing down on his last lane, he then went on to check times on his watch.
I noticed the problem. It was a smartwatch. The guy had muscular arms, he could totally have chosen a Tentagraph. 😀
We have Pool Bike on the schedule later I think. Which is fine. For potential boredom containment reasons, I brought both Bleeding Edge and Harmonielehre to the pool bed (which isn’t at the pool, rather below a palm tree on a lawn).

Cats here share Sieglinde’s rhythm — none of them to be seen around this time of day. Once I’m done with Pool Bike, they’ll resurface.
