As of today, I decided to call the recordings for the source material for the track Maximal Techno completed.
Which means I now have close to five hours of source material. Which will be time-compressed by a factor of 64 and then end up in a 58-seconds-long remix track.
Musicmaking
We had a few setups and dates since last time.
First, there was a revisit of the 4-bassdrum EAR setup, albeit this time with a composed performance.
I then spent some time procrastinating on doing another run with the A100 mothership – that was until Rolando visited me, and we spent close to an hour twiddling knobs.
By that point, I had started to weed out ideas. Like using a guitar and a drum machine, or bringing in the TD-3, or doing something with only a Korg Volca Beats.
What was left was the idea of drumlogue plus SP404 at 138bpm.

This one went on for about half an our, and at times touched on solid hardstyle.
And once I was done and had wiped off the sweat, I considered those recordings to be done.
Progress
None on the Ambienthoven front. It’s still „learn to play it yourself“ vs. „recycle“ (as said, I haven’t made any progress).
Fortunately, there’s not much left otherwise except for then printing, editing and generally more tech-y things. And cover art.
But we still have a lot of time on our hands.
I’m happy with how it’s going!
